Nova- LaSalle

I knew this one was going to be close. I called LaSalle with the upset, although they did not get the win, they kept it close all game and only lost by three points. Its a mark of a good team when you can win close games when you are missing as much personnel as Nova is right now. LaSalle is a much improved team this year and I look for them to continue to get better with time. Its great to see Big 5 basketball back on top. I think that every team is better than they were last year. My opinion is that Villanova and Temple are at the top of the class but LaSalle, Penn and Drexel are all solid squads.

Villanova athletics is really in its prime right now. I think football is going to get their second National Championship in a row now the Caesar is back on the field. He is the real deal, scoring 5 TD's against App State. I think he should take the guaranteed money in the MLB but he wants to take a shot in the NFL. He can be effective in the NFL, much like Wes Welker on the Patriots. I personally think the MLB is a safer option because of injuries but good for him if he is following his heart. Basketball of course is becoming a national powerhouse and Jay Wright is one of the best recruiters in the nation. It is rumored that football got offered to join the Big East if they can find a stadium to fit the capacity requirements. It would be great to have another Division 1A football team in the city and I think with the combination of their basketball and now football reputation they could get good recruiting classes and compete in the wide open Big East. Villanova football right now recruits almost equally all over the country. However, if they move up to the Big East I think they should follow in Temple's footsteps and focus on the Tri-State area. Recruiting is all about building trust in the player-coach relationship and if they focus on a small area, they have a chance to build better relationships. Either way I believe they can be successful and I hope they take that next step.- Buzzy
