DermondDaily Power Rankings : MMA P4P

December 12, 2010

After last night if you don’t think St-Pierre is the best fighter in the world then : A) You didn’t watch him pummel Josh Koscheck for 25 minutes. B) You don’t like mixed martial arts C) You hate Canada. GSP was absolutely stellar in his defense and no one in the world even is close to him at this point. Could we see a Silva/St-Pierre bout in the future? Maybe after Anderson destroys Vitor Belfort at 125.

1.  Georges St-Pierre UFC Welterweight Champion
As I stated earlier he is the best, probably already top five of all time.
2. Anderson Silva UFC Middleweight Champion
Silva will be woken up by his crazy fight with Sonnen. Watch out Vitor Belfort, you have your work cut out for you.
3. Jose Aldo UFC Featherweight Champion
Not publicized nearly enough, Jose is going to show how exciting the featherweight division when he gets on his first card.
4. Jon Fitch UFC Welterweight
Fitch is constantly the second best  fighter at 175. He may never beat GSP, but his matchup  with BJ Penn looms to see how good Fitch really is.
5. Frankie Edgar UFC Lightweight Champion
After userping the thrown at 155, Edgar was impressive in his title defense. Watch out though for Gray Maynard in his next defense who has beaten him already.
6. Fedor Emilieanko Strikeforce Heavyweight
Fedor lost, get over it. He may not be the specimen he once was, but he is still the dominant heavyweight in the MMA world until Velasquez, Dos Santos, or Overeem  prove otherwise.
7. Cain Velasquez UFC Heavyweight Champion
Cain dominated Lesnar, and he is going to dominate Dos Santos. I don’t think he is unbeatable, just no one right now that can hang with this guy.
8. Shogun Rua UFC Light Heavyweight Champion
Shogun dominated Machida and I don’t think Suga Shad has much of a shot. This division is on the verge of being taken over by youngsters like Ryan Bader and Jon Jones, so I don’t know how long  Shogun will last.
9. Dominick Cruz WEC Bantamweight Champion
Underappreciated little guy in a very volatile division. Even I struggle to put him top ten because tomorrow who knows who will be the champ at 135.
10. Allistair Overeem Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion
Allistair is a solid fighter and needs to fight Fedor to gain top heavyweight status in Strikeforce, regardless of his belt.

GSP-Silva DANA! We want it now!!!
