NCAA Basketball

Michigan State has really been disappointing thus far this season. I know they have had a really tough schedule but you need to come up with a win between UCONN, Duke and Syracuse. They simply just cannot shoot the rock and their big men are not athletic enough. Lucas is nasty but they need to find someone on the bench who can spot up and just shoot the 3 ball or else they are in trouble. Syracuse looks like they might be the real deal though and that zone defense is just such a bitch because teams never see it.

NBA

Mavs are hot right now and I think it’s mainly because they are actually playing some pretty good defense this year. I know the Lakers are dominant even though they had a little losing stretch, I’m predicting Mavs-Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

I think the Bulls are also very good team, they are young but I see the continuing to improve throughout the year. Derrick Rose is for real, one of my favorite players in the league.

Watch out for the Knicks to make some noise later in the year. They are playing great defense overall statistically and once their offense comes around they may be the surprise team of the year.

The Heat are finally beginning to “heat” up. I think LeBron finally got his swagger back after putting a whooping on the Cavs. If they would have lost that game the move would officially have been a bust. However, he took care of business and I think it gave them momentum that they can run with. They just beat a very good Jazz team last night pretty good. I think him and Wade are realizing that there’s shots for both of them and Bosh is coming along. I still think they need to make a move for a legitimate center if they want to compete with the Celtics. Prediction is Celtics-Heat in Eastern Conference Finals. I think the Celtics are pissed they got overlooked this off-season with all the attention of the Heat. Those guys are studs and proven veterans. I think they realize that this is their last run and with Rondo taking control of the ball (even though he can’t shoot the rock) I pick them to do like they’ve done so far and beat the Heat.

Gotta go with the Colts, Titans are just in disarray with the whole Vince Young situation, their season is over. Peyton is going to give it one last push for the postseason.

Sunday's Games

Cleveland @ Buffalo

I disagree Chief, this game has meaning. Buffalo is a good young team I want to see if they can start finishing games for the future. I see them getting one this weekend vs. the Browns.

Atlanta @ Carolina

Atlanta loses, streak ends here.

Tampa Bay @ Washington

Tampa Bay beats the Skins. Too much off the field issues with Hainesworth and I think Shannahan doesn’t have full control of the team.

Oakland @ Jacksonville

Going with the Raiders on the road, they are legit this year and a better team than Jags in my opinion.

New York Giants @ Minnesota

I think Minnesota is going to surprise people here. This interim Coach has the players on his side and they want to win for him. I like the upset.

Green Bay @ Detroit

Packers.

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh

I saw a stat that had something to do with how the Bengals have been playing very well in Pitt the past few years but I still can’t see this upset happening because this game means too much to the Steelers for the to lose it.

St. Louis @ New Orleans

Saints, just a better team.

Seattle @ San Francisco

Clown teams in a clown division, Seattle wins.

New England @ Chicago

Patriots aren’t losing the rest of the season. Brady is in the zone and I think he’s pissed people even considered the Jets could beat them.

Denver @ Arizona

I know there’s a new Coach in Denver, he would make a good name for himself by beating the Cards, because they are such a joke.

Kansas City @ San Diego

Very tough call, San Diego just seems to play whenever they feel like it, its so hard to predict what team will be on the field Sunday. I’m going to surprise myself and pick the Chiefs.

Miami @New York Jets

Things fell apart, Sanchez looked like a rookie again, Dolphins upset.

Philadelphia @ Dallas

Birds gotta get this game. I cannot allow them to lose to this Dallas team, no matter how good they seem to be playing right now. They have no answer for Vick. Our D-backs have to step up but I think we will score enough to get the W.

Ravens simply too good and its too important this late in the season to lose.

NCAA Football

This goes against popular opinion but I love the BCS Bowl system. A playoff would be unfair to the teams in the big conferences, particularly the SEC. They have to go through the toughest schedule and a playoff would wear them out. I love how every week means something in college football, if you are the best team you simply cannot lose. Boise State and the small teams are a joke. They have about three tough games a year and they lose one of them, to a team who probably would be one of the worst in the SEC. The big conferences deserve the respect they get from the computers and TCU made the right move by simply joining a BCS conference, that should be the protocol if you think you are good enough to play. I think the system worked perfectly this year and got everything right. That president at Boise needs to switch up his team’s conference and stop bitching. Or he could just focus on academics instead of trying to get money from the BCS bowl his team doesn’t deserve to be in.
