EsseJTHEbody NFL Picks

Thursday Night

San Francisco @ San Diego

Chargers are a better team, but I like the 49ers at home to win this one

Sunday's Games

Buffalo @ Miami

Dolphins are fighting for their playoff lives and I like them to take it to the Bills.

Detroit @ Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay at home, gonna get ugly. Bus win.

Arizona @ Carolina

Most uninteresting game in NFL history but the Cards will win back to back.

New Orleans @ Baltimore

One of the best game of the week. I like the Saints to win it at the end.

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis

Manning is not losing to the Jags twice in one season plus Indy is at home. Indy takes this one.

Philadelphia @ New York Giants
Eagles won by 10 last game and played like shit. I like to see a more complete game out of the birds and win big and take the division!

Cleveland @ Cincinnati

Bengels have to win more than 2 games this year. Palmer sucks but they should win this game easily at home.

Houston @ Tennesse

Texans win enough said. Although Randy Moss will get his first TD this game.

Washington @ Dallas

Cowboys win in a blowout. Redskins dont know wtf is going on now a days.

Kansas City @ St. Louis

Rams will win this game if the Chiefs are without their QB.

Atlanta @ Seattle

Atlanta finds a way to win once again. They still are the third best time in the NFC.

New York Jets @ Pittsburgh

Steelers at home, will put pressure on the QB, forces turnovers, and merk the Jets.

Denver @ Oakland

Raiders will dominate this game.

Green Bay @ New England

The Pats aren't losing again this season. I'll have to agree with my man Chief. Best team in NFL now. Brady is running away with the MVP also.

Monday Night

Chicago @ Minnesota

Bears beat a bad team. I still think overall they're frauds.

Nova- LaSalle

I knew this one was going to be close. I called LaSalle with the upset, although they did not get the win, they kept it close all game and only lost by three points. Its a mark of a good team when you can win close games when you are missing as much personnel as Nova is right now. LaSalle is a much improved team this year and I look for them to continue to get better with time. Its great to see Big 5 basketball back on top. I think that every team is better than they were last year. My opinion is that Villanova and Temple are at the top of the class but LaSalle, Penn and Drexel are all solid squads.

Villanova athletics is really in its prime right now. I think football is going to get their second National Championship in a row now the Caesar is back on the field. He is the real deal, scoring 5 TD's against App State. I think he should take the guaranteed money in the MLB but he wants to take a shot in the NFL. He can be effective in the NFL, much like Wes Welker on the Patriots. I personally think the MLB is a safer option because of injuries but good for him if he is following his heart. Basketball of course is becoming a national powerhouse and Jay Wright is one of the best recruiters in the nation. It is rumored that football got offered to join the Big East if they can find a stadium to fit the capacity requirements. It would be great to have another Division 1A football team in the city and I think with the combination of their basketball and now football reputation they could get good recruiting classes and compete in the wide open Big East. Villanova football right now recruits almost equally all over the country. However, if they move up to the Big East I think they should follow in Temple's footsteps and focus on the Tri-State area. Recruiting is all about building trust in the player-coach relationship and if they focus on a small area, they have a chance to build better relationships. Either way I believe they can be successful and I hope they take that next step.- Buzzy

Chief's Week 15 Picks

Thursday Night

San Francisco @ San Diego

Chargers still fighting for a playoff spot. I like the Niners to play spoiler but it will not be enough to take down the Bolts at home. Chargers

Sunday's Games

Buffalo @ Miami

Miami looked good vs the Jets Last week. Look for the trend to continue. Dolphins at home.

Detroit @ Tampa Bay

Bucs still fighting for thier playoff lives, need this one at home to stay alive in the tight NFC race. Bucs

Arizona @ Carolina

The Panthers are absolutely terrible, but so are the Cardinals. Look for the Panthers to actually put something together this week at home, and in doing so hurt thier chances at Andrew Luck. Panthers

New Orleans @ Baltimore

Great one here. Drew Brees high-powered O vs that infamous Ravens D. Gonna go with my squad here, Ravens at home, in a great game.

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis

Another good one here with a in division battle. Look for Indy to come out hot at home, but fade late as the Jags suprise some in this one and remain in first place.

Philadelphia @ New York Giants

HUGEEE GAME A win for either team could mean the NFC east title and maybe a first round bye. The loser will be left with a tougher road to the superbowl. Always gonna ride for my city though, Vick is on a mission. Birds 37-31

Cleveland @ Cincinnati

2 bad teams late in the season, who cares, taking cleveland only cause I have to make a pick

Houston @ Tennesse

Houston looked good monday night vs. Baltimore, Tennessee seems to be throwing this season in the bag. Texans in this one.

Washington @ Dallas

That extra point took away any slim hopes the Redskins had. Cowboys are playing with a sense of pride we had not seen early on. Cowboys at home

Kansas City @ St. Louis

I don't think the Rams are for real, though they may end up in the playoffs in a terrible NFC West. I like Kansas City to take care of business on the road.

Atlanta @ Seattle

Atlanta is on fire right now. Falcons get the W

New York Jets @ Pittsburgh

Another good one here. The Jets have lost 2 straight, and though I went against the Steelers last week and they won, I am going to do it again and try to redeem myself. Jets here.

Denver @ Oakland

The Raiders have been playing some good football, Denver has not. Raiders at home

Green Bay @ New England

The Pats are sizzling fresh off dismantling the Bears. Green Bay may be without Rodgers. Gotta take the Pats in this one.

Monday Night

Chicago @ Minnesota

There's just something about the Bears I dont like. Favre returns in his last Monday night game(Yea I said it) and leads The Vikings to the upset.

Eagles/Cowboys Recap

Another big win in the book for the Birds, 30-27 in Big D though this one wasn't easy. Michael Vick was his usual self in this one, hooking up with speedster Desean Jackson for a 91 yard touchdown pass that seemingly ended the game and was the biggest play of the birds season so far. This endzone celebration was a casue of much controversy this week. Personally, I didn't really care. As long as he didn't drop the ball before the endzone this time!!

A few Notes I took during the Game:
  • Has anyone noticed the large number of young players on the Eagles Defense. I counted 5 rookies who saw some good playing time (Nate Allen, Brandon Graham, Travard Lindley, Jamar Chayney, Kurt Coleman)
  • Bradley's injury was a big loss that may have been overshadowed by the big win. Not sure how confident I am in a rookie 7th round pick to come in in December and man the middle of this defense. Omar Gaither and Akeen Jordan have never really impressed me.
  • The hits on Vick are starting to worry me. The guy is tough but he isn't unbreakable
  • What a season Lesean McCoy is having. 149 on the ground and iced the game in he fourth quarter. Starting to look like a pro-bowl running back
  • Todd Herremans did his best Mike Bartrum impression scoring a touchdown on a tackle eligible. He also had a huge block on Mccoy's game sealing run.
  • This team just has a certain swagger about them that I haven't seen from recent Eagles' teams. Its like everyone on the team expects to win every single game. Never seen Andy more fired up then he was after Vick took that big hit. I think he senses something special too.
  • A lot of Chad Hall in this one. Don't know why Jeromoe Harrison never saw more carries after his 100+ yard performace against the Redskins.
  • Tashard Choice asking Vick for an autograph after the game. Who really cares? Vick was an NFL icon for the Falcons when Choice was growing up in Atlanta going to high school. I would have asked him too

Big Game next week in the Meadowlands that will seemingly decide the NFC East

I have been swamped with finals but look for my week 15 picks in the coming day or so.
